Wagon Wheels

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/2 cup melted shortening

4 squares baking chocolate (unsweetened) or 3/4 cup cocoa

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla.

Blend in chocolate and shortening.

Sift dry ingredients together and add.

Add pecans.

Refrigerate several hours.

Roll into balls and dip in powdered sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees F on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes.
